WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE AN OLDER COUSIN!!!!!

You know i always adored my older cousins': Connie, Cathy, Jennifer, Alice, Brandi (there in order of age). I always loved spending time with all of them!!!

When the parents would go to Aunt Sissy, Cathy would always come and get me and take me somewhere else so i wouldn't have to be around the grown folks, and then I always stayed at Connie's house during the night, she always opened her home up to me, even though she had a son younger than me!! Thanks Connie i really appreciate it! ~ Those are memories that have been burned into my heart and I love you for it!!

Furfer has really become an awesome older cousin in the last 2yrs! She always has been, but I guess we finally found are notch on the tree of being a Driggers! And she has learned to always know when to make me laugh and when to sit down and be the mother type!!

Alice, what can I say, I have spent many of nights/weekends with her, she is one that really showed me how to be a driggers' and that it's okay to go down and see family! She always made the road trips fun, (partially because i always road with her/or at least tried to ride with her)!!

Brandi, what can i say i always tried to be at deerfield with her, or be at Granny BooBoo's when she was there. I can say that as a child i spent a whole lot more time with mom's side of the family, from the friday night's at granny's (to me telling my mother when she would drop me off, to leave me at the top of the road and i would walk down)!! That street sure was a lot safer back in the day!! To a plate full of french fries and homemade pizza's at night, to Bobbie Jean waking us up Saturday morning @ 6, to granny saying whatcha want for breakfast in 25 words or less??!!! To trick or treating around the neighborhood you in costume, me in jeans. To crazy ole dean bat, to Charley Brown scaring the heebee jeebies out of us with his mask, to Mr. Murfee with his practical jokes (a different one every year)!! There a lot of memories i have with you B. Thanks!!! and i love you for each of them!!

Well enough rambling, I am thankful for my older cousins, and just hope that i can be an awesome "older" cousin too!!!

The day after Christmas

Well unlike my parentals i had to work today, just kidding, they are working on cleaning up my scrapbook room.... (bless there hearts)...

Not a creature was stirring
-even vulcan was snorin'.

Our stockings were hungon the glass sliding doors,
Near the sand -dollar wind chimes
Mom got in Gulf Shores.

Baby Sister was snuggled all safe in her bed
With visions of cheerleader stuff in her head.
And me in my Bama jammies, and Luke in his War Eagles,
Were just settling in with Buck and Buster, our beagles.

When out by the gas grill I heard a noise
you wouldn't believe-
It was louder than our tailgate party on Iron Bowl Eve!

I sprang to the window
and threw open the shutter
Armed with Dad's new autographed
Hubert Green putter!

The moon was as bright as the new Dollar Store
They put in down the road-it's open all hours!
And then what to my wondering eyes should I spy
But a Marshall Space rocket blazing on by!

With a little old driverso lively 'n' quick,
He coulda won Talladegaten times in a lick!
Eight terrified reindeerhung on for dear life
And he hollered so loud
I could hear him in flight:
Hang on Mary-Kate,Shane, Trey, and J.D.!
Hold on Tiffany, Junior, Bo, and Lurlene!

From Birmingham's skyline
to the banks of the Tallapoosa-
Now fly to Mobile, through Montgomery and Tuscaloosa!

You know when the Doppler Radar comes on TV
Showing how tornadoes are gonna blow us all away?
Well that's how this rocketship made the sky look -
Got me so worked up I needed a Buffalo Rock!
As I finished my drink I saw our magnolia tree shake
When the bottom of that rocketship started to scrape.

I looked up through the limbs and caught him red-handed--
On our DeSoto Caverns birdhouse Santa'd crash landed!
Bless his heart. He looked bigger than Ruben to me,
With hair white as Stabler's tangled up in that tree.

Mom's always saying I should help folks who are older
So I helped him get down onto our John Deere mower.
Santa headed insidein two licks and a shake
And filled all our stockingswith Little Debbie cakes.

Then he looked right at me, and before goin' out the door
Slapped on top of the TV some new bass fishing lures.
He fired up his rocket and soon they were gone,
All the while telling those deer to hang on.
But I heard him holler out as his rig sped away,
"Merry Christmas, Alabama!
I wish I could stay!"

Thanksgiving

Okay so even though thanksgiving wasn't that quiet this year, I was still thankful to be able to have some of my family around me... While on the other hand I was also glad about the mashed potatos that Aunt May brought, they are the best!!!!



I was really glad I got to see Mark & Kim also, Kim is a trip to be around and then when you put her and my aunt may together, it's a hoot to watch!!! I love the both of them. Even though in the past I have had several run in's with Mark, you know I kninda had to learn that if he didn't love me, then he wouldn't pick on me (Thanks Kim)!!!! I hope you got a lot of good deals Kim!!!



After Lunch at Granny Boozer's I came home and put my feet up and watched Shrek 3rd and fell asleep on the sofa.



My cousin Chris also deported on that Saturday going over seas to serve his country!!! I am super proud of him

Okay People, so lately for the past few weeks, it has really been getting a little chilly outside. Either God has left the freezer door open or maybe (fingers crossed) we might get to see the "White Blanket" this year!

I know it has been a little bit since i have seen the snow, matter of fact the last time I saw it, it was in a picture, where Margot & her family had gone up North. **Boy, wish i was there on that trip**

I am sure I am like 65% of the other Southern folks who can't stand the heat, and would like things to chill out.

The way it keeps going Bre, we should all be in jeans, and sweaters, and BOOTS before too much longer!!!

Did you all forget about the Turkey???

Well now around this time of the year, a lot of families are thinking oh my gosh it's time to start Christmas shopping.... even if you go into one of the stores all you seem to find is Christmas decorations...

What about the Turkey???

Have we all forgotten about the Turkey? Did you realize that in some stores we jump from the Easter bunny straight to Ole St Nick.... & then on the other hand, we jump from Halloween (though in my family that is a National Holiday) straight to Ole St Nick...

That poor ole bird doesn't even have a chance. I know my aunt has bought my grandmother some kind of thing that makes noise (it started in October, she bought her a skelton looking head where the lights lit up red) and now in November, she has bought her something for Christmas already......

I can only speak for myself, but I am looking forward to Turkey day this year... Aunt May is making her world famous Potato's and I can't wait... If you haven't had her potato's that would be a Sorry, because more than likely I try to dip my plate first.... ha ha ha ha!!!!

IT'S WONDERFUL TO HAVE SISTERS!!

MY OLDEST SISTER MELONI WITH MY NEPHEW TYLER. SHE'S A GOD SEND!!! AND I KNOW I AM VERY LUCKY/PROUD TO HAVE HER IN MY LIFE.

THIS IS MY YOUNGER SISTER "RED" (THOUGH SINCE THE MRS SHE IS MORE LIKE THE OLDER ONE). I AM VERY LUCKY TO HAVE HER IN MY LIFE.!!

Well let me catch you wonderful people up. It's November already!!! Can you believe it?? Blink your eyes a couple of more times and it will be Christmas before you know it!!

Work is work as usual, but i can still tell you after 6 years I still love my job!! It gets very interesting around this time of the year at work. As i am sure it does with everybody else's job.

Other than work, nothing else has happened other than the bit of back pain i have had for the past couple of days... But hey like granny boozer would tell you all "I am a tough ole bird"!!!

I do want to send congrats out to a really awesome friend of mine on the birth of his second child, he already has a precious little girl, who has the blonde hair like he did in high school.

Just some updates

We will start with Friday Oct 20th I got a phone call from mom, telling me that poppie wanted me to go with them to Sam's... yeah for anyone who knows the family knows that mom can spend 5hrs in Sam's and will still have not gone down every isle. So i thought about it, and agreed to do so. So when i left work friday i met poppie over at Sam's, which was probably a whole hour before mom could go...

In good news i was able to get a huge stack of blank cd's.... ~that would be a yeah me~!!!

and as we are roaming around inside Sam's, guess who comes up behind pops and says hey!!! can you guess??? huh? can you??? It was Honey Boo... For those of you that don't know her, she is the mother-in-law to Furfer!!! She is so cool... That is one person that I wouldn't mind having in my family!! We talked for a minute, and she gave me a hug, and was like I love your hair, it's cool to have clients that don't mind experimenting with hair!!!!

When she got there, we all ate a piece of pizza together up front at Sam's. and after we ate, I left and went home. Boy i soon learned that Sam's sucks!! Not a fan at all. Wouldn't it be nice to have someone go to Sam's for you with a Camera with a feed back to you at the house, so you caould tell them, yes get that, or no not that!!! hmmmm....

Well Saturday the 21st, Poppie had to be at work at 700, so needless to say with Walmart only giving him that day, and the Monday before to work, Me & mom couldn't do anything for the party, so me & mom were both up and att'em at 7 on saturday morning, cleaning, moving things around, setting up tables, dicing things, finding crocpots. You name it, we tried to get everything done before the party at 6.

Well needless to say, we should have known that something was going to be thrown up as a road block..... At 1pm mom drove me up to Walmart, we got a tray of chicken, and i swiped Dad's truck so that mom had to go get him when he got off from work.... God love you Mom's..
But as we are driving back up in the driveway from Wally World, she is in the garage and I am at the side place pulling up in dad's truck, as i see this HUGE spider come crawling towards the garage from the Street.... IT WAS BIG ENOUGH TO EAT ME!!!! So i took my yellow croc off and slung it at it, which to my knowledge i thought i was doing something great, but ended up breaking the sak for the babies, and then there were about 500 spiders instead of 1 huge one. GROSS IS THE ONLY WORD I CAN THINK OF NOW!!!!

But anyhow, special thanks to Brandi & to Furfer for coming early to help me out while mom went to pick up dad.

Thanks for everything you do for me, you truly are an awesome person to have in my life. I enjoyed getting to spend some time with you this weekend...
